help with 1878-cc morgan

    Could anyone help me assign a grde and value for this morgan. I know its a vam 17
    If it looks funny around mm or eye.i tried using two light soures apologies for pics.

    There are alot of scratches thats for sure and i think it is made worse by the surface. The xoin in hand is bery reflective and almost PL

    Looks like it has a touch of wear. Given that, and the scuffed up look, I'm gonna market grade it AU53.

    I agree with merc but it is tough due to all the scratches plus good luster present.i should stick to my gut.

    I'm a young collector at eleven. I wish I could just have it in VF. But I do agree with Merc.

    trust......You want to hear something i am in no means a rich person yet I enjoy finding a treasure rather than buying it at a coin shop. Im 28 years old and in no way close to your age but i know what you are saying. truthfully i think you should ask your parents or yourself buy a morgan dollar redbook get better at recognizing things like cleaned coins and if a coin is genuine or not along with many other issues. after that search antique stores or pawn shops because in my opinion where i live many of the "gold and silver buyers" know less about coins and grading them. You will find a nice piece if you look hard enough. usually my scores are mint pieces with heavy tone that people think is dirty used coins.
