prison cent?

    my camera leaves alot to be desired! but it has the bars all across this cent its a 1989

    It's probably a clashed die then, nice find.....I can't tell squat from that pic.

    sorry- i get closer the flash- well its worse, il get better camera thanks! yeh i got a 1946 where he has no beard ! i l get camera!!

    If the bars are as long as the photo seems to show, it isn't a clashed die. The bars should be the length of the columns of the memorial's columns on the reverse of a normal cent. These appear to cover almost the whole coin, and would be post mint damage if so.

    I agree, doesn't look like it's clashed, but what's up with the date placement... it looks off to me. Cover you flash and try to take closer pics please.

    Check your manual. If the camera has a macro setting use that, use supplemental lights and either turn off the flash if you can or cover it. If the camera doesn't have a macro setting set it for the highest resolution possible then crop the image to just the coin. This lets the image be blown up as much as possible without being too large to post.
