I usually buy mine directly from the bank (halves)! I had a good deal going w/ the 40% until I let my coin dealer know about it! The banks stop giving them to me for awhile! They suddenly went dry w 40%! What I get for having a big mouth! But, it didn't stop me from stockpiling a cool 5 rolls of 40's! Needless to say I started shopping out of town for my coin supplies!
I used to work in a convenience store and I do not think we ever sent these things back to the bank. Some people always look in your change drawer for the oddball denominations and if they see something in that section ask for them. Of course, I had already picked out anything good, but would give out Ikes and halves if we had them adn they asked for them. I bet you most of what you spend ends up in someones "coin collection" because they are "rare", just like all of those bicentennial quarters and halves. Don't underestimate how many millions of Americans still pull out non standard coins and hoard them still.
