Here is a quiz. All you have to do is guess the US coin and the date on the other side. You get bragging rights if you get it right (no prizes, just bragging rights). Please initially guess at only one of the coins & give others a chance to play along. I’ve only posted five coins.

A couple of these photos were borrowed from previous posts by Leadfoot & Zaneman so special thanks for letting us borrow your CT images.

Give me a moment to post the five coins......
    Here is the first one
    Coin #1

Yep, the 3-legger is a 1937-D Buffalo nickel. The photo was copied from a Zaneman CT post. I don't own a nice 3-legger.

Yes, the 1961 proof Franklin has a doubled die reverse. The pick-up point is at In God We Trust.

    #3 1877 Indian head cent?

That's right. It is a business strike 1877 (key date) Indian cent. There is weakness at the center of the coin causing the bottom of the top N and the top of the bottom N to fade into the field.

I think I know #2 but i'll let someone else try.

The last one is a tough one. Coin #2 is obviously a Peace dollar. This year is the only year where you will find four rays at the eagle's tail under the word ONE. We need an educated guess at the date from a CoinTalker.

    No, it's not an 1877.

Also, it's not strike weakness that you're seeing in the reverse, but rather the weak N is a feature of the die.

Bingo, the 1935 S is supposed to be the only one with the four rays at the tail feathers.

Most of the 1870's and some of the 1860's exhibit this in varying degrees.

I just figured it was a 77 because I saw some other key dates...

    what date is it?

It's not an 1877 photo? I thought I used the image of an 1877 reverse from (one of your) previous posts?
