Well, I finally graduated from physical therapy school. I decided to treat myself to a little cion shop visit. Goals on this visit in descending priority for me:

1.) 1928 S large mint mark XF Mercury Dime or better-FAILED (dealer melted all lower grade Mercs...sadness.)

2.) 1953 and 1953 S BU Franklin Halves-FAILED (someone came in and bought a huge lot of BU Franklins a week ago and dealer is still trying to recover more samples)

3.) Proof Lincoln Memorial Cents-SUCCESS! I figured I would start working on the proofs and then the harder varieties such as WAMs and CLAMs and upgrades. I bought proofs from 1997-2009, but I won't bore you with the pics. Most know what a proof cent looks like.

4.) 2001 S Sacagewea Dollar-SUCCESS! This is the only one I was missing. I checked on it last year sometime and it was over 30 dollars for one of these! I figured I would hold off. Today, I checked for some reason the dealer had them priced at 19 dollars. Deal! So, snatched one up. For your viewing pleasure:

5.) If all above fails...silver of some sort to celebrate the graduation. I was going to go for the 2011 ASE but dealer was back ordered (yeah, I was sort of striking out today.) I've always wanted to put together a nice somewhat circulated Peace Dollar set. Since I have only one more Merc, two more Frankies, and working on proofs of LMCs I figured I would grab one just for fun. I may have paid a bit much for it, but I just love how Liberty is portrayed and that eagle on the reverse. I can certainly see myself grabbing one each month at the coin store with my new job/pay check. So, here she is.

Not a bad day overall. I didn't get what I really wanted, but it worked out all right. Comments and opinions, good or bad are always welcomed. Well, except if they are comments bashing me about how I wasted money on clad proof cents when I could have been buying silver. Some guy looking through a bucket of Morgans already gave me that opinion today, so I would appreciate those to be kept to yourself.

The Peace Dollar has to be one of my favorite coins, if not my favorite. I also like to look at proof coins so I can understand buying them too! Bummer on missing out on your other buys..but..fate.
