I bought this at a yard sale, found it in a old suitcase that I bought, it was wedged under the fabric? don't know to much about it, it appears to be copper, it is date 1736, and is a little over 1" diameter. If any has a clue, please let me know.
    Thanks
    John

I don't know anything about this coin but I'll google around and see what I can find.

Did some looking around and came up with more questions than answers. If it is made of copper then it may strongly be a fake. This coin should be of a goldish color. Icould not get an exact comparison but there is at least one post on this type of coin here on CT. If I can find it I'll post it here.
I read a post somewhere that it might be an 8 'escudos coin and not a real'. zeke

Go to the upper right side of this screen where you'll see a rectangular box ''advanced search''. Type in '1736 spanish real'
and search from there. good luck

It is not a genuine coin, it's a reproduction.
