The mintages on these are as follows...

    1939 10C Mintage:
    Circulation strikes: 67,740,000

    1939-D 10C Mintage:
    Circulation strikes: 24,394,000

    1939-S 10C Mintage:
    Circulation strikes: 10,540,000

The PCGS estimates are as follows...

    1939 MS66-$30; MS67-$40
    1939 FB MS66-$275; MS67-$600
    1939-D MS66-$27; MS67-$75
    1939-D FB MS66-$58; MS67-$160
    1939-S MS66-$30; MS67-$345
    1939-S FB MS66-$1100; MS67-$3200

Anybody have a theory on why the 1939-Ds with FB are treated with such disrespect? You'd figure here must be a reason, right? Thanks.

I wouldn't pay any attention to values found in the PCGS price guide.

Luckily I learned that already from you guys. :) But relatively-speaking, why do they seem to be undervaluing the Denver strikes w/FBs? The only thing that occurs to me is that these Denvers must have struck a lot better that the Philadelphias and San Franciscos (...does that make any sense?).

No, GD, you did, because I honestly didn't know. But hey, I'll take credit for an assist... :)

Not sure where the PCGS main office is located but if it's in San Fran or Philly and the Broncos beat up on them lately, then PCGS people would have a right to downgrade D minted coins.
Oddly enough I know a coin collector that will not collect S mint coins since the 49ers beat the Bears back in 86 I think.
