    Well, today was eventful. Got to the city, had some fun in Reading Terminal Market (If you're ever in Philly, GO THERE. It's right next to the convention center and it's amazing) and had some soft shell crab, ribs, and pulled pork. So delicious!

    Then we walked down Chestnut hitting up random banks. The last bank I stopped at, Wells Fargo, right on Independence park, had $330 in rolls. I lugged them another 3 blocks to Franklin Fountain, an awesome ice cream shop that's been on Food Network a few times, sat down, and had at 'em. Appx $250 were machine rolls that were folded back down and taped, so those were the last I opened. There were 4 rolls with just $10 Halves in fancy curved print on 'em, the first four rolls I opened.

    Two '63 Franklins (ironic, heh), one P and one D. The Denver has some nice golden toning.
    One 1964.
    $7.50 in 40%ers.

    Makes me wanna open the rest of my boxes outside the Franklin Fountain, maybe I'll get more Frankies.

    If it's nice next week, I'm gonna head into the city early in the morning and spend a day walking around hitting up as many banks as I possibly can.

    haha.

    Went through 2 boxes of cents in the past couple of days. Awful boxes, 14 canadians, 12 wheats total. In the second box I did have an interesting find, my first dime from a bank wrapped box. That brings my total for dimes from penny wrappers (all but the 1 are CWR) to 42.

    Yep, going to stop by tomorrow afternoon at the bank where some guy was dumping silver halves, but hasn't had any in a couple of months...

    My hubbs went to the bank to get halves and scored 10 BU rolls of 1994-P's. Have they been sitting there since 1994 or what? Anyway, I think we'll keep 2 and sell the others.

    Since my first box this past weekend I have gotten 3 more boxes of dimes. The first had one nice 1955 roosey. The 3rd and 4th were skunks. I really like this box searching!

    It wasn't from a roll, but my girlfriend gave me a 1961 penny she got from the market. I know, whatever right? Well, it was one of the few spots still open in my memorial collection (1960 small date and 1970 s small date still remain). Plus, it's pretty hard finding some of those early Philly pennies way over here in Oregon!!

    Thanks! It's my favorite coin. Only worth 10 cents but I think it's awesome. I call in The Spear.

    That's something I've wondered about -- do you see a lot of older S-mint pennies and nickels out there? Growing up (in the 60's and early 70's) on the East Coast, finding an S was a really big deal. During the time I was traveling to California on business, I was out of the hobby, and I wasn't paying cash anyhow, so I don't know what it's like there.

    Friday Report

    The juju is strong this week.

    BWR H's: 100 rolls -> 12 x 40's, 1 Frankie; first box had 1 40, second box had 11 40's and the Frankie
    CWR H's: 1 roll -> skunk
    CWR D's: 55 rolls -> 2 roosies
    BWR P's: 85 rolls -> 17 rolls, 16 wheaties

    Some great finds for everybody this week! Got a box of H's coming today, and maybe a box of D's...

    But, what goes up, must come down. My Friday the 13th started on Wednesday - chipped tooth; Thursday - blown timing belt; I don't want to leave the house today. :confused:

    Have a good, and lucky, weekend everyone!

    There's a belief that if you were born on a 13th (like me), Friday the 13th is a lucky day for you. I haven't seen any evidence to that effect, but I'll hit the bank this afternoon anyway. (See above.) :)
