Being a new guy around here, I did not know Bob, but judging from the outpouring of kind and nice things that have been said about him, he must have been one heck of a guy.

I wish that I had joined this community sooner, so that I may have gotten to know him as well, as you all did. Or, at the very least, got to share in his knowledge of the hobby.

My most sincere condolences to all of his family and friends. :(

Along with Rickie, Bob was instrumental in forming my addiction to paper money and the curse that followed. It's enriched my collecting experience greatly. I think in life we need more people like this who influence others in ways that better everyone's lives. Go in peace brother Bob.....

Bob was well liked and respected in this forum community. Our hearts go out to his family and he will be sorely missed here. He was a great help to me when I first joined this group and immediately started me on a path to increase my knowledge and joy of paper money.

I had the chance to correspond numerous times with Bob last year and he was always enthusiastic and appreciative. His interests included far more than coins and currency. He told me he also collected black powder guns, postcards, vignettes, small antique sewing machines, So-Called Dollars, tokens & medals, and marquetry. I was pleased to help him rekindle an interest in souvenir cards.

In his honor, I'd like to post one of his favorite vignettes -- Panama Girl -- which appears on the 1914 $50 Federal Reserve Note and a souvenir card from 2004. It was a pleasure to have met someone who shared such a passion for the engraver's art. May we all hold onto the same delight Bob found in his many collections.

The strongest man I ever knew.

On behalf of my mother, my wife, and myself, we thank you for your kind words.

Attached is a photo of Bob and Madonna doing what they did best (since age 16 when they first met)- spending leisure time at the Jersey Shore.

In my previous career with FDNY I had the occasion to serve with many great and brave men.
None of them exceeded my father in his quiet exemplary bravery day in and day out.
    He will always with us.
I speak to him daily, and always will.

    Bob's son,

    Chris Connor

    "Hi Rick,
My wife & I just came from church and You were in our thoughts & prayers my friend.I lit a candle for you & your family.
I can not even imagine what you are dealing with and with your faith and family support you will get you through this.
We all miss you very much, rest & get well."
    Sincerely,
    Bob

    Dear Rick,
When I didn't hear back from you this was my worst feeling despite your taking this battle with the positive attitude....It has not worked yet.May 10 gives you some time to get your strength & perhaps this understandable sadness & depression will lessen and lift up your spirits a bit.Thank You for updating me.
I have been there also at times and the medication helped a bit,but my wife ,like yours are strong people(even though we never met) I know to put up with us and stand by us and pray with us,
In my Church where my wife is a Eucharist Minister we both prayed for your recovery & lit candles at The Infant of Prague alter for your recovery & will continue too for all your family.
    Sincerely,
    Bob

As a more recent member of this forum, I knew of him but did not know him. Even at that, I could tell he had a positive influence on those around him. People of this caliber are needed and missed the most. I send condolences from my family to his.

Since I am new here to CT, he hasn't been a constant member when I was here. However, I've read some of Connor1's posts, and he is a knowledgeable man about notes. He will be missed dearly all of us here at CT, and my condolences go out to his family
