I ran across this coin while rolling some change. I am fairly confindent it is a 1957 Greek Drachma 1. I am not a collector, thus I am unsure about what to do with this coin. I have a 1 year old son, is this a coin that I should hang on to for him? What could I expect a dealer to offer me for this coin if I decided to sell it? Is a local dealer the best way to go if I wanted to sell it? I hope these pictures are good enough to give a good representation of the coin. I was obviously used. Thanks
This coin has little value, unfortunately, but however you could save and get your son or yourself interested in coin-collecting.
This coin is rare in uncirculated condition but quite common in poor condition like this one. This sort of coin is usually sold by weight at about $7 per pound ($16 per kilo). An uncirculated version can go for over a thousand dollars.
