From the George Cuhaj's 12th Edition of World Paper Money, I
believe this paper money is from Republic of China - Taiwan
from 1904 or 1905 -- and that one may be a one dollar bill and the
    other a 5 dollar bill.

I am wondering about its worth. Thank you for any help.
This is the first time I have uploaded photos, and by mistake, I think
that there is an additional unrelated photo of a Japanese bill that
    I will post separately.

Thank you again for any help you can give me.

I am not familiar with these notes, have no reference books, and have no idea as to their "worth".

As you know, these notes are extremely difficult to read because of the fading, chops and handwriting.

I can only offer the following:

The notes were issued by "Xiang Feng" which I believe would be a private issue. I do not know if "Xiang Feng" was in Taiwan or not.

The note labeled "Taiwan 1 Front.jpg" has the date "xianfeng 11 year" which would be the year 1861.
The note labeled "Taiwan 1 back.jpg" has a red stamp which says the denomination is "400 wen".

The note labeled "Taiwan 2 front.jpg" has the date "xianfeng 10 year" which would be the year 1860.

    Not possible.

If your dating is correct, which is stylistically probable, they are either from Imperial China (the Republic of China did not come into existence until 1912) or from Formosa under Japanese control (1885-1945).

Chiang Kai Shek's Kuo Min Tang government of the Republic of China took control and restored the island's traditional Chinese name following the end of WW II. When the Communists under Mao Tse Tung's leadership defeated the nationalist forces in 1949, Chiang withdrew his government to Taipei, and began issuing ROC currency on the island.
