Hello, I am new to coin collecting and wondered if you guys could help me out!

    I have a 1907 French 20 Franc Rooster coin.
I understand it was reproduced in 1921 and also in the 50s and 60s. However, I am convinced that this coin was made in 1907 and is not from the "restrikes". I've also read that many of the original coins were melted down and are harder to obtain.

How much do you think it is worth? Also, does anyone know how to tell the difference between originals and coins that have been "restruck"?

    Thanks!

There is no way to tell an original from restrike.

Well, an electromagnetic spectrum analysis could probably distinguish gold fabricated in the early 20th Century from gold fabricated post-World War II. It's been used to conclusively identify otherwise excellent modern forgeries of ancient coins.

It would cost a lot, though, and there would be no premium attached.
