Iceland / Ireland Finds at todays coin show

Hi all, here are a few pick-ups from todays show. I was actually pleasantly suprised because I bought every Icelandic coin that was there last month LOL!

and 1 Irish note, sorry but I don't have a scanner, I took the photos of my favorite parts

 

that is a 5 pound note sorry. It isn't in the greatest shape but I am a sucker for celtic knotwork and art. I actually had a bunch of these in my pocket when my wife and I went to Ireland on our honeymoon. Of course I should have kept a couple and didn't. Live and Learn as the say, Thanks For looking!

Thats a nice little haul. That 1938 1 Eyrir looks to be in UNC,,,The toning around the edges is most of the time a give away. That toning I'm talking about is what I usally look for when I'm looking at pictures that a seller has posted on a Ebay listing. :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Being a huge Monty Python fan, I looked at the snippets of the £5 you posted, and I could just imagine Terry Gillam using some of those in The Holy Grail or even just a normal episode thereof! Watch out for the 'Killer Rabbit' ...

I know my training is far from complete, I can feel the force growing within me though LOL!

 

Glad to have you back Bruce! I'll bring the note with me on Thrusday. I have tried to take a good photo of it but I can't get a good one.

 

LOL, your right, I didn't even think of that. The monk would be perfect!

 

Looking forward to seeing it Mark. It's tough getting good photos of notes, but really easy on scanners. I guess you'll have to sell your collection and pick up a really good scanner.
