I'm always impressed by the positive language of the CDN. As Cramer says there is always a bull market somewhere, and the CDN editor looks for a coin bull market every week. It looks like the issue gets finished up Monday afternoon for the Wednesday afternoon online access and the Friday, dated, issue. So on Monday the price of silver was still strong, but by the end of the week the prices were old.

I'm interested to see what other subscribers think about pricing accuracy and the general quality of tone to the publication.

I have a copy of the book, Coin Dealer Newsletter: A Study in Rare Coin Price Performance 1963-1988 which was a collaborative effort between CDN and Q. David Bowers. I would love to see them publish a sequel to this for the years 1989-2014.

    PRICES:
As accurate as you can get for a printed guide.
Remember they are "wholesale", not "retail".
And they can only update prices for items they can get info for, and they need more than one result.
That's why some prices seem to stay the same for extended periods of time.

    EDITORIAL COMMENTS:
As for their commentary on the market, I don't put much value on it.
    Why?
    - Their comments range from "Rah Rah" to neutral. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.
    - They'd probably lose advertisement money if they bad-mouthed the market.
    - They stick to high grade material which is the stuff that does advance.
