Silver Halves are getting tougher and tougher to find. Every week since March the % has dropped. I opened 8 boxes and did one bag as well and the grand total was (1) 40%.

No surprise to me. I pulled a 40% out of a teller tray today, hitting up my other loop tomorrow, hopefully I'll find something good.

 

Not sure if I'll make it up that way before Saturday..

HOWEVER, there is a coin show this weekend.

can't complain at least i found something, its getting tough out there.

But went to two banks on the way (one to pick up the dimes & one to dump them)

The first had 9 halves, out of which 7 were 40%.

The second had two dimes (52 & 59) I picked out of the teller tray.

Can't complain.

Maybe. The markins looked old as did the wrappers. I think someone searched a hoard of silver and clad halves then just reused whatever wrappers they had. But I sure was disappointed, that's a fact ! LOL Truly an emotional roller coaster ride. lol For whatever reason they did it, it was a dirty darn thing to do.

I get 1 per box. I thought I was doing ok. Maybe not?

 

Mix and match for me. Lately, its been 1 per box. Few weeks ago (prob posted here) I found 4-5 in a box ...two others in the roll that "looked" silver were Canadian dimes, not even the old ones (those were 80% silver)

 

Did another box. This time String & Sons.

Also found a 1812 Portugeuse V Reis coin...like the one in this link. That was a cool find.

Picking up my first two boxes tomorrow

I'll be picking up my first ever boxes of halves tomorrow (my bank ordered them for me).

One of two things will happen. I will either find nothing, which means I will likely not get into roll searching...

However, if I find something good, I will probably be hooked...

I'll report back.

Hey cj, don't sweat it, it's all about volume. The more you are able to do the more you will find.
Even you get some skunks to start off, just keep at it and the good stuff will come. I just started up again this year,
first 3 boxes were skunks. Last 2 yielded 12 silvers, and a f'n 1812 Portuguese coin..haha. And that's nothing compared
to how lucky some other folks are around here. Good luck!

 

Did my second box of halves today (my first box yesterday was skunk) and I found ten 40%s and two 90%s The best part is that the 90s were a Franklin and a Walker - my first Walker! Just goes to show that if at first you don't succeed, try try again!
