Now this is the second time in 2 months that I have been asked to hold on shipping a item after payment. This person bought a 700 dollar coin set from me and now asked me to hold on shipping the item until she get´s back from a trip. She does not state how long she will be and she could come back in 20 days and ask me to ship the item and then open a were is my item claim. Am I wrong in thinking this or do I have the ebay flue I told her I could hold onto the item but she would have to pay me when she came back from the trip. Then I have the full 30 days as per paypal and ebay shipping policy. Siggi
Well if she´s only going for 2 days it would matter if I would ship it now. Most items take about 8-10 working days to arrive. So I´m guessing she will at least take that long or longer. The shorter time frame I have as to shipping the harder it will be to take action if item is claimed not received. The postoffice can take up to 2 weeks to get the papers needed that paypal and ebay ask for.
Take a look at her feedback and see if she's pulled this before. I know there are bidders who "overbid" their budget and then stall for paying and sometimes they try to back out all together. I don't know how many times I had bidders say they can't pay due to an accident they recently had after they had asked for delaying payment. Yet they were still bidding on other auctions. If they can't pay, they shouldn't play. It got to the point that I was requesting full payment within three days or they were going to be reported to ebay. (This was a few years ago, rules may have changed since.)
She could have at least PAID for the Item first. I know when I win an item on EBAY I pay for it ASAP. What if she changes her mind? Then you have lost valuable time on the item as well. In your listing it plainly states "Payment is expected 72 hours after auction end" in big red letters. The lady new she was going in holiday, she sould not have bid on the item to begin with. I get really P*@@ed when people take advantage of someones kindness and that is what she did IMO. I would have said no I'm sorry but we can't hold items beyond the 72 hour window. Of course if she had paid for it first that would be a completely different thing. Keep us posted Siggi! Markin NJ
At first I assumed she had paid in full and was requesting the shipping to be delayed, but now I see where you are with her. I don't know what you stated in your payment policy for that item, but I would stick to it. If it was "Payment within 3 days" then you should be within your rights to negate the transaction after that time (definitely reread eBay's policies 1st though). My only bad experience was a $500 item I sold to a guy who then said to contact his "friend in Nigeria" (laughs) Yeah, I know, I got back at them though, by making them think I'd accept such bs and made them jump through a few hoops, then they sent me the fake MO's. I played with them a while, I had to get SOME value out of it right? (laughs) Well, good luck with the sale, I hope it won't cause you too much grief.
She doesn't have the money and is stalling. I'm sure you'll have to file a claim with ebay because you'll never hear from her again.
