Last night, I used some at the McDonald's drive-thru, and the young man said "Wow! I've never seen these before? What are they, dollars? Oh, 50-cents. Cool!" This evening at the grocery, I received the reception of "Are you sure you want to spend these? They're worth a lot more than what you spend them for." I thanked the young lady, and upon reflection, I should have tipped her for her consideration. If I see her at the market again, I'll give her something worthwhile. I haven't had the "We only accept US currency" response in a while, so at least the youth of America are starting to at least read the coins.
My favorite responses are the ones where people try to tell you "they are worth much more than 50 cents"
