CBH's are one of my favorite series. Wonderful varieties, intriguing history, and handsome looks. Here are a few to start things off. Lance.
CBH's are one of my favorite series to collect as well. I don't have many of them photographed so I'll just post my most recent one:
Coleguy, cool '22. Looks like O.109, you think? How's the luster? What do you grade her? Nice 18.11, Mark! Love it. Sweet '28 as well. Denticles all around, just like an Oreo cookie! Lance.
O-114. I'm on the border of F and XF on grade I think. Luster looks better in hand and it has a little olive green toning. Nothing like the great coloring on your pieces, though. Those are really nice examples! Guy
Yes! You are right...it's not a O.109. T-I is wrong for O.109. I was misled by star 7 which looks buried in your half, and by the arrows which look to have more separation than O.114. But the point of star 7 is correct with O.114 and die erosion probably drew the star into the cap. I would guess closer to XF40 than VF35. Could go either way, I guess. Lance.
I knew IT!! I had an 1807 come up at a local club for $1300.00 two weeks ago.. I had the cash on me, but I was in a hurry to get somewhere once the auction began.. The grade was VF/AU.. either or, IDK cause I knew I wasn't going to stick around, so the loupe wasn't there.. (was marked AU on the 2x2, but ya know how that goes.. ) Did I screw up?
Not necessarily. There's a big spread between VF and AU. And then there are price swings for varieties. You can pick up a slabbed VF20 1807 CBH for several hundred or you can pay $10k for an AU58. I wouldn't spend $1300 on a coin without doing some research. You probably did the right thing by not bidding. Lance.
these are my only 2 and it was about time i took some new pics of them anyway 1830 O-108 R3 and 1831 O-105 R3
A recent addition, it is an O-127a. Not a high grade, but for you Overton nuts out there, it is an R-7. So, I think that I'll keep it.
lkeigwin, the Busties you posted in your original post are stunning -- I love the toning. Here is my example -- I just bought one as a type coin. Paid $355 for it last year.
Thanks for the nice words, WingedLiberty. My set is just a modest AU but I just love these coins. That's a gorgeous '27! Great strike and it appears to have strong luster. Frank, impressive rarities (the 1807 and 1809). Holy smokes! Here are a few more to share. The 1814 is an XF but I thought you might like the look. Kind of cool clashing and die cracks, and nice toning. The 1815/2 and '39-O are not toned much but are tough coins with a meaty look. Lance.
Sorry, Collector1996, I can't help. I'm on the road for a while with no access to my library. Maybe treashunt can help. His 1806 draped half is very special. Even in its low grade and with its cleaning hairlines it is likely to be worth a couple of thousands of dollars. Lance.
