I will post a photo outside tomorrow with sunlight. I never have any luck picking these out! Looks like a shotgun barrel color in hands.
These are very difficult and nearly impossible to authenticate when the coin has been circulated. There are so many possibilities of how a coin can turn dark. I have a few that have received enough circulation that I can't even determine if they are toned or Improperly Annealed.
If you look at the obverse same location as a reverse there's some burn there too but not as much . When it gets light out I'll take a image of the rim in that area . The reverse also has a die clash in front of George's face
Hello everyone, I apologize about posting this here an not on a new thread on the error coins forum. I am having issues verifying my email. My cousin, and I found this particular quarter and after inspecting it, we both agreed that this had some unique coloration. We began to research what the causes could be. We believe based on the descriptions, pictures, and explanations of a improperly annealed coins that we may hv found one. Although entirely prepared to be told it is not what we think it is. https://photos.app.goo.gl/Qi7g1surzB2mDn8G7 Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
