Howdy kuroteikuu - Welcome to the Forum !!

Well you can stop beating your head now, you can't identify it because it's not a coin. It's what is known as a silver round. They are made by private mints and sold to people for their silver value and because some folks just like the designs.

You have what is known as a "Silver Round". It was produced by one of the hundreds of private mints that make that sort of thing, and unless there is a hallmark on it somewhere the only way to know which mint it came from is to have someone familiar with that precise operation see it. In other words, we need a picture, but even if you post one we can't guarantee an ID.

Silver Rounds are part of a larger type of exonumia (coin-related collectibles) known as "bullion". They generally sell for their metal value +/- 10-15%. With silver at $10 an ounce, yours would probably sell to a dealer for $8.50-9.00, and you would pay that dealer $11-12.50. for another one.

Edited to add:I gotta learn to type faster. :D

To answer your second question, yes they are still being produced.

It could have been made almost anytime from 1950 to last week. But if you post a pic, somebody here might be able to help pin that down a bit ;)

would love to post a pic but it seems i miss placed my camera its vanished into thin air. anyway i haved 2 of these coins like i said 1 i have no clue who made or anything but the otherone says Oklahoma federated Gold
and Numismatics INC. but anyway the other coins i recieved for my birthday are cased individualy each say United States Goverment and Silver Dollar on the casses the coins varie from 1885 to 1923 so i figure they are Morgans and Peace's from the research i've done

to be exact i have 6 1921, 3 1886's,3, 1885's Morgan Silver Dollars i believe (i'm not sure as to tell if its morgan but i noticed peace ones normaly say peace and judging the dates these must be morgans) and then i have 7 1923 Peace Silver Dollars. and then a 1990 Silver dollar, and 1989 Silver Dollar, + the 2 Private Mints

Edit: Missed a pile i also have 3 1903 Morgans

Well you may find this interesting - CLICK HERE

Can you identify the mint marks ? They are found on the back of the coin right above the D and O in DOLLAR.

This is for the Peace dollars - CLICK HERE

I'm not sure, but I think Oklahoma federated Gold and Numismatics is out of business. The only things that turn up in a Google search on that name are EBay auctions of their gold and silver rounds, and multiple references to a court case against them, which they lost by failing to properly defend.

On the Morgans? becuase on the morgans it seems above the D and O is a Ribon which is at the bottom of a reef (or whatever that is) with the eagle above them holding a branch and arrows.

i guess "S" Mint mark would have made it more "Special" ? =P

not necessarily, the little letter (or no letter) tell us where the coin was minted (none=Philadelphia, D=Denver, S=San Francisco, O=New Orleans, CC=Carson City), but some dates with a little "S" are worth more and other dates are worth more without any letter.

ah well i read S= San Francisco so i figured it ment were it was from didnt know if it made it better or anything. i'ed like to find my digi cam and upload some pictures but i'm dumb and lost it some were around my house. but anyway i really overall wanted to learn about my newly inhereted coinds and what i should to with them not sure if i'm going to collect, or maybe trade, or sell them thats why i was trying to figure out stuff about em and so on. but as far as i can see one of my morgans have a mint mark. what would there value be? from 1985-1921

it seems none of my Peace silver dollars have any mint marks below the ONE as it says it would be located there so that means all my coins are normal old silver dollars?

Value is dependant on several things like the date & mint mark, but mainly it depends on the condition of the coin. That's why pics would be helpful. The very same coin can be worth $12 in one grade and $1200 in another. It just depends.

in average circulated condition they are worth about $12-$15 each. The 1903 ones are a little better date, so they are worth at least $15 and maybe a good bit more if they are in better condition.

Find that camera! We will only be able to guess at their value until we are able to see the coins and make a better evaluation of their condition.
