Could anyone assess the value of this morgan id like to sell but maybe thinking i should resubmit to try to score a higher grade.the change from a 64 to 65 is huuge money and even more from pl to dmpl. Any help is appreciated.
I honestly cannot find another at the same grade with a pl. Im not even sure where to find info on how much the pl adds in value to a particular coin
Would you please take photos from directly overhead instead of at an angle. Angled shots make it difficult to judge marks that may be on the surfaces. That's why SleazeBay sellers love em! Chris
HA.com sold an NGC Fatty slabbed MS64PL for $184 back in July of '07, so I'd guesstimate somewhere around $250-$300 today, seems like a very difficult coin to find in PL.
Your estimate sounds a bit high to me. Are there any completed auctions on eBay a little more current? Chris
I took it to a coin dealer he is a friend and couldnt value it indefinitley....but said a 64dmpl has a bid of 8000 even ms 65 price is up there too...i paid 275 hoping its a score
If you decide to list it on eBay, I'd suggest that you take better photos that are directly overhead. Otherwise, you might not get as many bids because some people will just pass it by. Chris
I hope you're able to recover all of what you paid if you sell it. $225 seems a bit high. The one that Merc cited from a Heritage auction in 2007 for $184 was in an old NGC "Fatty" slab, so you don't know whether or not any of that sale price was attributed to the older slab. There are people who like to collect them just like the old ANACS slabs. Chris
I did some searching on eBay completed sales, there were several MS64, no PL designation, sold between $97 and $116. I would think a 64PL would come in around a 65 or 66, no PL, price around $200.
