Just got word that I picked these up at the recent Lockdales auction in the UK.1903 and 1904 Edward VII 5c. Described as having iridescent toning. I can see the rainbow colours in these coins though they are raw and I imagine AU rather than MS but someone will tell me for sure. Pictures not great.
Having them slabbed, will let folks know how they turn out from PCGS.......the mix of colours looks like oil on water......nice.
Thanks......I think the 1904 will be the more valuable if it comes back approaching anything MS.....but the 03 if lower grade......i use the J and M catalogue. I seem to buy and sell Chinese coins in oder to help fund my Canadian collection these days...sold a Fatman in MS 62 yesterday......marbury518
Both came back from PCGS as AU55.........so the oil on water look clearly didn't impress.....so probably didn't break even on that one.....
