Agreed! I wonder just how many steak dinners, bottles of (Rot Gut) whiskey, maybe even the comfort of a saloon girl these coins purchased! Steve
Nicer than any of my 1893's, I don't have any. Someday I'll target the Philly branch one in MS63 to fill the hole in my date set.
i think its great that you have all of them and they are all consistent in grade too which is cool. I just need the S of course but dont wanna shell out the cash.....how much did you pay for your s if you dont mind my asking.
Of course the '93-S was silly expensive. Ten times the price of the others. It's a PCGS G6. I crossed it from ICG, so I was able to pick it up cheaper than one already in PCGS plastic. Still, it was almost $2.5k. The '93-S is a key but like the S-VDB there are plenty out there if you're willing to pay the price. Lance.
Same grade as mine (PCGS G-6) except mine only cost $750. Of course that might be because I bought mine in the 70's
Smart! I didn't have $750 to my name in 1970. I was a poor kid in college in RI back then. Good for you for saving it. Hoard the keys! Lance.
Nice coins! To me, they have the right "look". Is a circ set of Morgans possible? Or, are some simply not available in circ grades?
Wonderful set. I think circulated Morgan's look great and you have a very nice problem free set there. Much better than my 1893s. I only have 2...both raw, my 1893 is harshly cleaned and has someone initials carved in Liberty's cheek and my 1893-CC is harshly cleaned.
Great set. I'd love to start getting morgans again but with the price of silver the way it is right now. I don't see it happening in the foreseeable future.
Love your 93 short set Lance. All in roughly the same grade. Nice 93 S, nothing modest about that coin, in any grade! I'm still looking for one, since the rest of my Morgan set is in higher grades, I'd settle for one in Fine-Very Fine, but even that's a stretch for my budget.
