This might be a silly question , I have been offered to buy at face value $ 50.00 in AU State Quarters At this time I know there is a huge supply of State Quarters, I'm not sure to list them or save them to see how the demand goes in the future ? All of yor advice has always been very helpful.
Anybody that wants state quarters already has them. I wouldn't bother. I don't see the demand going up much in the next few years.
During your lifetime AU State Quarters will be worth only 25 cents. Factor in inflation and you will be losing money by holding them.
AU statehood quarters are, and always will be, worth nothing more than 25C. A few roll collectors I know, myself included, have just deposited them (it was a good way of putting $$ away, buying them at face, I'll say that). In the beginning of the program, still in '99, I remember getting DE and PA rolls from the bank, for face, and selling them for $60, or more, a roll....and ones coming from circulation, upwards of $45 per roll. Those days are gone for GOOD. NO WAY will AU SHQ be worth more than face, just no way...too many minted. The only SHQ that will EVER be worth more than face are NGC/PCGS graded MS67/MS68, non satin finish, examples. Period. Your $50 would be better off put into something else.....even your gas tank, than into AU SHQ.
its like saving AU Bicentennial quarters. How did that work out 30+ years ago ? Add in Ike dollars, $2 bills, etc.
