So I searched around today for hours at all kinds of banks and gas stations etc. for these $1 presidential coins and no one had em. I guess I just live in a bad area to be a coin collector. No one had halves now no one has dollar coins.

Anyone know where I can find these coins or order them that is not above face value? I dont care if they are circulated or not.

    Thanks.

The US Post Office used to dispense dollar coins in their vending machines but they removed all their vending machines a few years ago. Some public transportation facilities dispense dollar coins in their vending machines. i have gotten dollar coins in change at Denver LIght Rail stations and in Atlanta at MARTA stations.

US Mint Direct Ship program...not sure what coins are included, or how many you have to purchase, but they will send them to you at face value.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

You have to buy them by the box of 250.
    Selection is limited.
Maximum of four boxes in any one ten day period.
Each box is $250.00 with no shipping charge.

if you buy a soda at a vending machine that costs a dollar and you give it a five, it cant give you change in bills so it gives you dollar coins and quaters

In boston our subway ticket machines give change as dollar coins. If you live near a metro area, you could try that.

The fare machine at the incline in Pittsburgh gave dollar coins for change... I was going to feed a bunch of my paper into it, but the lady behind the counter looked at me funny.

I get them at work from vending machines. Also, the local banks all have them, loose and in rolls.

When I was visiting the Denver Mint Gift Shop, the dollar exchange machine was out of dollars. Didn't we just see 1.3 million of them next door?!

The US mint has a direct ship program where they will send you the coins at face value. But you have to buy a minimum of $250.

I tried that on my way back up from indiana Today. No dispensers anywhere. Whats worse is the vending machines wouldn't take my dollar coins, or $2 bills and the only other denom I had on me was a $20.

A couple of local banks here have rolls on the first day of issue. With two sources, I haven't tried to find anymore.
