I can help you on books, but let me understand. You are looking for prices on books that would give you prices on Greek, Roman, and Judaic coins? Or just books with an emphasis on Greek, Roman, and Judaic coins? These are pretty large fields, and if you could be a little more specific it would help. Just to let you know, I have about 500 books covering these sectors, and am not even close to being a large library.

Good place to start would be David Sears books. He has a two volume on Greek, and either a 1988 one volume on Roman or a new 5 part on Roman, though #4 was just released and #5 is still unavailable. The price on the two Greek books would be around $30 each used on Ebay, and the 1988 one volume Roman around $40. These are good prices, but the list is higher. I am cheap. The 5 volume set, (1-4 in print), run about $80-$100 per volume.

For Jewish coins the Standard is David Hendin's books. He just released a new version, but you should be able to get a older version on Ebay with some searching for $50 or less. I believe the new one is around $80.

    Hope that helps.

Sears books are all, "Greek coins and their values", or Roman coins and their values". David Hendin's is "Guide to Biblical Coins". I think the latest is the 5th edition.

Keep in mind that Sear's books, which are probably the closest thing to what you want, aren't really like the Red Book for US coins or any modern reference like that. Ancient dies were all hand made, the coins were hand struck, and they've had to take various amounts of the elements for thousands of years. This means that coins vary much more widely, and things like style can greatly effect price in a way that you can't easily put into a price guide. In addition, this lead to a huge variety of coin types, and no price guide can effectively list every single known type. There are simply far too many. Finally, we really don't have mintage numbers for any ancient coins, so rarity is based on how many have been found, not how many were struck. This means that if some guy in Bulgaria goes metal detecting and digs up the right jar, a previously rare coin can become very common. This means that you can have rapid price fluctuation in a way that you wouldn't find in modern coins.

I'm not saying that price guides are useless for ancients, but they are much looser guides than books made about modern coins.

If you had around a grand+ to spend you could buy the "RIC". Roman Imperial Coinage a 10 volume set, this is the Bible of ancient Roman coinage. Otherwise David Sears books are just fine.
