Is this dime an error?

    The surface of this dime seems mostly copper, with just a few areas of nickel plating. It is the correct size and properly reeded on the edge, but doesn't seem to show the normal sandwich of copper between two layers of nickel when the edge is examined. Copper Dime.jpg

    I think it is simply discolored.

    Most seem like Mr Diamond said on my Dime 2009 P "Improperly annealed planchet". And this sample is most clear because the white spots. In other words "overcookeed".
