    Depends. What denomination?

    You answered your own question:

You could check the pop reports but those are notoriously inaccurate (thanks to resubmissions) and only apply to coins that have been graded (so low-grade coins that are not worth having graded do not appear in the pop report).

There is only one left, and as soon as somebody else gets that sucker it is going into the cauldron.

    If it's valuable, not many.
If it's not then more than enough to supply the collecting community.

Wow, it's a shame that you managed to pop out offspring.

Ask unreasonable (AKA Unanswerable) questions, you'll get unreasonable answers.

Since a silver coin of that denomination wears down in circulation in less than 25 years, that means there are ~zero~ left, in circulation, which is 100% correct.

Sometimes coins take some time off and then jump back in.

I know of no algorithm, but you can guess if it's silver it's probably going to have a lower number... Copper doesn't fair well after a hundred years neither... Your going to have to use your imagination on this one, cause there is so many varibles...
