I dont remember the year but a local pawn shop had a O minted Morgan dollar. They were selling it for spot prices. Are all O minted morgan dollars only worth spot or are some of them worth more? These are not graded, they are normal circulated dollars
It really depends on the date. For example, certain varieties of the O dollar include the 1888o Error "Hot Lips" coin. In general however, no. The CC (or Carson City) dollars are usually fetching a higher price due to the rarity. If you can, I would look at the dates, then look them up. If there is anything special, snag it! If not, ask for a cheaper price, then see if you can sell it back or invest it for its silver to make some cash. What do you think?
Im not sure what to think, I am new to the whole morgan dollar thing. I like the coin itself because I dont have any other coin that was minted at the new orleans mint. I also dont have any coins from the carson city mint so i will be on the hunt for one of them as well. I think I will buy this coin tomorrow!
Many of the common date morgans that have been well circulated are only worth about melt now with silver being so high. If you like it , it is worth it, but will seldom be more than a dollar or 2 over melt unless it is a variety. Jim
