It doesn`t show the word "PENNY" anywhere on the coin, it must be a rarity.

The image isn't very detailed, but from what I can see it could be Die Fatigue or a Weak Strike. Try to upload another, clearer image and re-post, it may be something else.

I'm too busy thinking up snarky answers to the questions here to take the time to answer your question.
Are you too lazy to look it up yourself?

I think that was a little unnecessary.

I don't know what's wrong with your penny, but would love to hear what you have to say about it.

He's kidding. That's what we all do here every once in a while when we're stumped on a question. :D This is how threads get shut down, though, so let's stop and just :too-funny:.

So it is, I also see that the space where he should be is reflecting light differently, like it's been polished.

Can you provide a macro image of the center column where Lincoln should be? I'm betting he is there, just a weak strike. As the base of the Memorial including steps appear to be very weakly struck. Or perhaps someone intentionally removed the statue from the coin for whatever reason.

Sorry spark, I wasn't trying to imply anything. I'm still of the opinion that it is either a weak strike, worn die, or possible (though slight) defacing. I agree with Louie ...if you can, get a close-up pic of that area.

Looks like a very old die on its last leg coupled with possibly some struck through grease to me. Lincoln may have been polished away a long time ago and the coin has since then been given time to turn brown again, and wear on top of that makes the polish lines harder to see.
    That's my 3 cent piece.
