GO VANCOUVER. About $80 in cwr's and loose halves... nothing. Picked up 7 more ikes. Found a cent in a coinstar and got $1.05 out of a pop machine. Sometimes, it pays to push the reject button. Also, found out that the self checkout at safeway takes $2 bills.

I always roll them. That way whenever I swap them out at the bank, I don't have any troubles. All the tellers are willing to trade coin for coin, at least every one I have dealt with. Bt they won't sell the coin they need for business. One of my banks requires $30 in cents for each teller.

Another box of dimes, 2 more for the pile.

Still waiting for a big score... sigh. I've searched half of what I went through last year, and at this rate, I'll pull a little more than half as much silver, ugh.

C'mon, silver prices, drop down under $20/oz again please. After I sell, of course.

That is not an embarrassing question. If you didn't ask, you might not find out for a long time. That' embarrassing and not so smart. You will not find silver dollars by roll searching. They are about twice as big as a half dollar and much heavier too. Please buy a Red Book. The pictures are very good and will show you everything you need to know.
But it never ever hurts to ask for silver dollars. Anything 1964 and older is silver. The Red Book will tell you the rest for Eisenhower, Susan B. Anthony, and Sacagawea dollar coins. God searching and welcome.

Silver dollars are 1936 and older. It is extremely rare to find them. Eisenhower dollars (1971 - 1978) have some 40% silver ones issued, and they will have the S mint mark.

Halves are silver if 1964 or older (90%) and 40% silver between 1965 and 1970 (inclusive).

    Good luck.

I searched 12 rolls of dimes yesterday. Skunk. Visited several banks and found 1 half.....skunk.

Just picked up a $10 tray of cents on my lunch break at a bank branch I have never been to (different part of town). Teller gave me the whole aluminum tray full of plastic-wrapped cents and just said 'bring it back when you are done". Coins looked almost all brown, so thats a good sign right off the bat. I grab the first tube on the end and check the ends...see a wheatie one the end already. I have a sneaking suspicion I make a good pickup.

I couldn't wait, had to do a test roll. Grabbed a random one (not the wheat end). Ended up with 19 coppers, 1 wheat (1942D Fine), and oddly enough a 1976 and 1976D in BU condition. Strange, but a great start!

$200 in Halves brought in 14 40%'ers. I still have $800 more from this supply point! More tomorrow

Ive gone through two rolls and 75% of my halves were 1971. If only they were a year older.

If they were a year older, I don't think they'd be in those rolls. ;)

Have found 8 wheaties in about 10 rolls. Also, our school has a "bank" and we keep coins there. found a silver dime once. Also, I checked my baby sisters piggy bank (she lets me) and shockingly found a 1950d franklin half, 3 wheats, and a (get ready for this one) 1943s war nickel. Very fun to go coin roll hunting when its too cold to metal detect.... Fun hobby
