I know that the date is shifted due to the die and age but looks pretty good. I think anyway. Interesting. Thanks.

Sorry Pam, but in my eyes, none of the Zincoln's have any appeal to me, but maybe that's just me.

Well really, I prefer the older Abe’s. I just liked how the date looked. Dreaming of a double maybe lol. But I know what you mean.. the quality is not there at all. Thank you! :)

It’s a zinc cent so false doubling.

Saying this as gently as I can, the only one that looks nice is the ‘64, and it is a weak strike ( no memorial steps ). The others have wear, corrosion and staining; it would take another 50-100 years before they appreciate, they are brown…at least the ‘64 is a Red Brown.

The original OP coin, the 2001-D, is Red with plating issues, shows obvious evidence of circulation and struck from a die of advanced deterioration.

So, as I have said before, just because a coin looks “nice” and may look just now spit out from the mint, doesn’t mean it is collectible.

I have also said before: we all save coins we like for various reasons. Just don’t delude yourself that a coin is more than it is or has a better condition than it has.
    …imo…Spark

These are all from my dad’s coins and just posted it for mountain man because he stated he was not fond of the zincolns. Not sure if you read the post above. Thank you!

It's always cool to find something that looks like the original post. You can keep it in your collection but just no it has no added value in regards to resell. Some people collect these type of coins but they won't bring near the value of a true doubled die, and only to those who collect them.

Thank you and I knew it was not a DD. I thought it looked interesting. But after I read about a Lincoln exhibit worth thousands and a high end collector, which I’m not a collector as you can see lol, but I like Lincoln’s and that exhibit was outstanding!

Not a variety, but everytime I see a 2001 D LMC, I have to show my struck through obverse error in original mint packaging. I picked this up off a bid board for a couple of cents over face value. Polish_20201211_212729388~2.jpg Polish_20201211_212729388~3.jpg DSCN0935~2.JPG
Edit: The entire mint set was $2, and the error was discovered after I won the set.
