    4 ikes (2 72 D's and 2 74 D's) and 3 loose (71 D, 72 D, 95 D) halves. Nothin good, but still cool seeing as my bank NEVER has anything.

    Yep. I wasn't having great luck until I saw a post by you. "Volume volume volume" is what you said. So I started buying boxes instead of just a few rolls at a time. Basically, the more you search, the more you find.

    You know a funny thing just happened to me about two hours ago, now that I think about it. I went to my credit union and asked for halves. They only had three which I bought, no luck. But one teller said " How about $1 gold coins?" I didn't think
    and I said " no thank you." What the heck kind of gold coins was she talking about. Darn, its getting to me now.
    Anybody have a guess? It sounded as she had several if not more of them. This didn't hit me til now. zeke

    I just ask if they're quarter sized, if they say yes, I pass.

    Roll searching newb here!

    Only been doing it for a few weeks, but I'm going big time next week with a box of halves and 4 boxes of pennies for a week's worth of searching. I anticipate doubling that within a month or two...

    I intend to list my finds weekly, but I will post what I have found over the last few weeks of random sampling.

    Q's: 20 rolls -> Skunk
    D's: 70 rolls -> 2 silver Roosies
    P's : 5 boxes -> 54 rolls (~ 21%); entire roll of wheaties!

    Some observations:

    Machine wrapped Q's seem to be a bust; going to troll for hand wrapped Q's and do some further research...

    Hand wrapped D's are much better than machine rolls. (I will probably stop searching D's after I find another 23 silvers to complete a roll I already have started)

    Not much difference between hand or machine wrapped P's, both yielding about 20% pre-82's. The entire roll of wheaties was hand wrapped, so I will try to find more hand wrapped P's for further examination...

    Next report will be on Friday, May 6.

    Happy hunting, folks!

    welcome to CT!

    First 1/2 of a box of halves yielded 2 '64s. Hopefully the other 1/2 of the box does too. $50 in dimes had a '64. Also found a 2011 P.

    man you guys are doing great! Last box I got was skunk, ordering another box tomorrow hopefully better.
    I have 3 banks in the area - each using a different replenisher, Guarda, Brinks and Pendum - any ideas which usually yields higher results? So far Guarda has been my bread and butter

    Edit: - Half Dollars sorry

    I went "roll spotting" today (that is where I ask to see the clear rolled dims/quarters) and I got a silver dime from a roll at a grocery store.

    I've never seen clear rolls. I know they exist but I always see paper rolls. Clear rolls would make my job so much easier.

    I have been collecting and roll searching for one month now, and I have an embarrassing question to ask. What are silver dollars, how can you tell if they are silver, what years, how common are they (compared to silver halves), and do they come in rolls?

    +1

    The more you search, the more you find !

    Every one I know who has found something will tell you the same thing. Quantity and a lot of luck.

    I love the Flyers, I really do. Have since I was a kid, always will, no matter where I live.
    To give you an idea, this past week, I went through about $2500 in dimes. Got about half a roll for my trouble.

    Dont you loose allot of money returning dimes as they sometimes get counted as cents?

    I like philly as well, BUT I want to see the canucks bring home the cup this year!!

    Nope. The coin counter lists each coin. If you dump a bunch of dimes there shouldn't be any pennies on your list. At least that's how they do it at TD Bank.

    It's usually less than $1 per box, so I just say screw it.
