We see a lot of postings about bad sellers and/or buyers that we encounter on ebay. Maybe we should list these people and what they have done in one forum location so that viewers can use this as a reference point and be pre-warned. Sort of a "Red Flag" home base. My most recent encounter...... I purchased a coin from a seller who goes by the name wed55santa (wemisswalt@aol.com). I got the coin cheap enough but when he told me the shipping charge (after the auction) I was a little upset. $6 for a $7 coin was a little steep but I figured he used a fast shipment method thus the charge. So much for fast shipping, 2 weeks and still no item or shipping confirmation. I emailed him to inquire and was told that he just hadn't had time to send it yet. I simply replied that 2 weeks was a long time to hold an item that was paid using "buy it now" and paypal but his time his reply was very harsh, sarcastic, and rude and I was told he would ship when he felt like it. It is now going on 3 weeks and still no item, he must be going to hold it a while longer I guess but I know better than send another email.
That's probably what I'm going to be forced to do if I don't receive it by Wed (exactly 3 weeks). I have been hesitant because that will probably guarantee a negative feedback in retaliation.

From the sound of the way things are already going between you two it may already be a forgone conclusion... Remember you can pop him with one as well. B
That's definately an issue. Unless you are buying frmo overseas, which adds to painful factors of time, but if it was local, i.e. US local postage, I will be terribly disappointed. I had stuffs from the US posted to Australia in REGULAR airmail WITHIN 3 days, not 3 weeks! Although the worst I had was 2 months
I do agree with the original post. We need a handy in one spot list of the bad buyers and sellers on ebay that we can reference.
A very good idea, thankfuly as far as coins go I am yet to meet such a creature, but have when it comes to trading cards As I pay through paypal I am quite happy to lodge a complaint and I normaly inform the seller that if they want I will also lodge a complaint with the FBI for Internet Fraud, that usualy gets there attention. Thanks for the tip about this obnoxious seller. This kind of service is B.S. AND IT RILES ME just to read it!!!!!He should be boycotted by collectors other than us: SPREAD the word.
Ol' SLiver, I think this is a great idea. I just had a bad experience selling on ebay. The buyer was rude and threatened to ding me with negative feedback even though he hadn't paid. Is there anyway we can set up a list? Thanks, Eric.
Geeeez folks - ever hear of Google ? Google is your friend When you type in " eBay sellers to avoid " - this is what comes up. Ebay sellers to avoid Over 250 hits.
Yep I've been down this road before .I purchased a 1958 mint set(s) from a seller he pictured 5 sets in auction and description it said set (not 5 or 1 set) just set . The PCGS price guide said it was worth about $30.00 set (which I figure is about 33% to high I figured it was worth about $20.00/ $25.00 per set I bid $86.00 and won . Wow a great deal . Was I ever surprised to receive only 1 set, 3 weeks later .And to top it off the envelope had been steamed open !!!! This was my 4 th purchase on Ebay and my only neg I've ever received. We went through square trade (what a joke all they wanted to do have me remove my negative FB from him without me receiving a refund or the other 4 sets) so I decided to keep my neg FB and he kept his. I guess sometimes it's just the principle of thing. I don,t believe it has hurt my reputation on Ebay that much
I understand your pain with the shipping charge. I bought a penny from Aboncom and found out AFTER I won the item that they charged $9.25 to ship one penny. Last time I will buy from them.
Arrived snail mail 1st class $1.95 21 days after I hit "buy it now" and 10 days after he said he would mail it. Beat my deadline by 1 day.
Well 2 month down the line and a seller has finaly admited he forgot to send my cards!!! hows that for service :headbang: :headbang: De Orc :headbang:
Does Aboncom have a new alias? I noticed a large number of SGS graded coins being sold by a different seller. Here's a link. http://stores.ebay.com/AMERICAN-PLUS-COINS Also, check out this amusing feedback: Outstanding coin ! Slab reads 1961, coin is a 63 ?? Buyer lollym55 ( 45Feedback score is 10 to 49) Mar-06-06 23:35 8384575676
I think its a different guy. This guy's a quick shipper, unlike aboncom and he is located in Missouri, not Ohio. I think he is just submitting his coins to SGS for slabbing! What a waste of money!
ebay I don't know much about e-bay's finer points but the buyer-seller feedback trail looked a little stange. a lot of people buying a lot of coins in a small amount of time. and those buyers had the same trail behind them. ( you also got to love the pics of some of the sgs ms 70 coin, some coins just look nasty.)
If you look through the ebay boards a bit they also talk about Aboncom and Star Grading Services. There was one outfit called Steves Gift Shop or something similar that was supporting S.G.S. (note the similar initials). I guess he was contacting people that posted in there that trashed S.G.S. and threatening them with court action and whatnot as well so that would probably be a good bet for an alias.
