Some of you might know that I've been assembling a complete set of uncirclated, small-size, modern era one dollar star notes. I originally thought I would complete it by the end of last year, but I ran into a snag........namely, a 1988 Dallas star (K*). Well, yesterday, between the Easter egg hunt, and Easter dinner, I got an email from a friend letting me know the search was over, and I should have the elusive Dallas star by weeks end. So, every district, every series/year, from 1963 thru current in CH-CU or better is complete.....now it's on to the $2's. Wish me luck.
Fantastic accomplishment Steve. Congrats! Are you working on any other series, and if so how close are you to completing it? Bruce
Thanks ya'll. Currently I'm 90% done with $2 star notes (1963 thru current), and completely done with 1976 thru current $2 4-subject sheets (including star note sheets). The 1976 $2 4-subject star note sheets can be pricey, especially Kansas City (J*). My next purchase might be an IPad2
Steve, what a collection! You've got to be proud of a collection like that. Congrats and all the best on your quest to finish the $2!
wow that must have taken a lot of time and patience. I am working on at least getting every year Dollar made, not into getting every district, ect but at least one example of each year. It's a little slow going and some are hard or pricy to get. But congrats!
That is an amazing accomplishment. I've been trying for a complete set of ANY year and haven't been able to do so yet. CONGRATS
Steve: Congrats to you... I know you have been searching very hard for that note.. please post em when you can. :smile RickieB
VERY VERY impressive! I'm very young and have only been into numismatics for a couple years now, but someday, I'll have a very impressive set like yours! I, too, enjoy collecting star notes and I guess I've got a pretty decent horde; maybe I can send you the serials for the twos I have (my specialty), if you'd like.
