Shows some wear, pretty sure it has been cleaned, so I`d say between $15 to $19, considering the catalog prices. I would have paid $8, if i needed one.
I must be in luck then, because I have the same coin only slightly better condition and I paid $9 for it. My first time in a new shop I got a 1926 Unc. Peace Dollar and an 1865 3-cent for $49 and no tax. (I had $49 cash on me and he said since I was new he would take that for the coins and I'd be on my way.) He didn't have anything on display at his shop, it was all in storage, which was weird to me, I decided on the Peace Dollar and wanted to find something cheap to make up the rest of the cash I had and since he didn't have display to look through I couldn't decide what I wanted so he grabbed the 3-cent off the counter and threw it in. I think he was trying to get rid of me because I didn't have a specific thing I was looking for, but I still made out pretty good in the end.
You made a GREAT deal good for you. There is one coin store in my town and it's the same thing. No displays and if you just want to Brose you are out of luck. Alan
Yea. I am still at the point where I buy what catches my eye, and don't really look for anything in particular, so I got the feeling he was getting a little annoyed because I didn't know what I wanted, but I got a deal I was happy with so I don't care if he thought I was a newbie. Haha
Maybe two months ago? I don't remember exactly. Not too long ago though. Plus I figure if $40 was a little high for the Unc. Peace, the price i paid for the 3-cent evened it out because he said he was gunna sell it for $15 (which is what people are saying for the OP's). Since I got it for $9 the deal still worked out because silver at that time for the Peace (90%) was right around $30. So without paying tax and the discount off the 3-cent, no matter what it worked out nicely.
Evil, when I read your post about the store with nothing on display I thought that sounds like a store near me. Then I noticed you live in Highland - sure enough, same store
Is this store in Munster? Haha Nice guy, but I like to be able to browse and buy based on what catches my eye. I go to Hammond instead.
