Can someone also tell me the value of UNC 1986 1/2 oz; 1/4 oz; and 1/10 oz gold? Logically, one would think it would be price of 1 oz divided by 2, 4, and 10, but I don't think that applies here. And would having all 4 (1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/10) together in a holder add to the value? Thanks, Linda
Greysheet bid is $60 for the 1/10 ounce, $141 for the 1/4 ounce, and $365 for the 1/2 ounce with gold at $551(now $565). Charlie
Hi Linda, The 1986 American Eagles are considered bullion and are the series that I collect as well. There has been a shift toward some numismatic appreciation and with the 1986 being the first year of issue...they are some times sought after with a little extra kick if they are in great condition.Just because they are issued as bullion coins does not mean that they have no appeal..try finding a the 1/2 oz 1989,1990 and 1991 for bullion pricing..NO WAY!!! So check with several auction houses to find out what they have been selling for. If they are slabbed or in the plastic "coffin" they could be worth more to you in higher grades of MS 69 and 70. Good luck. The Mintages for those coins are as follows...no telling how many are over seas used as trade with other Governments and in collections...
