Can someone help me identify if this is a 1970-s small date?

I am just starting coin collecting and received this as change from a purchase today, but my research so far seems conflicting. I am questioning if the "9" has the right curve.

Large date. The 9 curls to where it is pointing just above the "S" but still below the 7.

On a small date the curl would point inward more towards the middle of the stalk on the 7.

Large. The first place I look is the height of the 7. Then at the curl of the 9. Then at "Liberty". You can also tell by the inside corner of the 7. On a large date it will be a straight pointy corner and a small date will be round.
