I'm curious - it's graded currently by one of the less reputable grading companies and I think overgraded but I would like to see what more experienced eyes have to say:

If it wasn't for the large hit under the eye and the carbon spots I'd say it was a 64 - but with them I'd have a hard time going past 63.

It looks AU-58ish to me, Maybe an MS60 but I see some wear on the hair and the face. That is without taking into consideration the major mark on the cheek

I would guess the grade on the slab is MS-64, real grade is probably closer to a MS-62, I can't tell if there is wear or it's just a weak strike.

I would say the grading company in question gave this Morgan the grade of MS64 due to the fact that this coin is normally found weakly struck. I see a lot of details not usually found on a 1921s. And the marks visible are no worse than the marks usually found on a coin graded MS63 by one of the top companies.

I'd personally grade it MS63 and note "well struck" in the description.

    Ben :)

It was graded MS-65, which I doubted! Thanks for confirming that.
