Hello, Does anyone out there know which variety this is? Went to the conica site but their verbal descriptions leave a little to be desired for atribution. Alll I know is that the doubleing is at least as strong as the FS101 but goes to the left rather than straight up.
Nice DDO! I agree that CONECA descriptions leave you guessing. The CPG only lists the FS-101. It does look somewhat similar, but it doesn't mention the date. Chris
Imho I don't have a reference in order to tell you which DDO it is. I will say that I believe you have found a real doubled die obverse coin. The doubling is not shelf-like as seen on mechanically doubled coins. You can see non-shelf-like features on the 7 and also on the S. Nice coin & thanks for posting it.
Yes. In invaluable Resource which is, unfortunately, out of print since 1998 and difficult to find. However, ANA Members can check out a copy from the ANA Library.
That's the first time I've ever seen the cover. Mine is a publisher's proof copy that is in black & white and spiral bound. Chris
