Someone help me out on this please... i thought the mint was releasing the Gold Buffalo Dollar this year. Yet, I have yet to see anything mentioned on their product release schedule, and i havent been seeing anything about the coin - i would think that the coin with this particular design would be generating more interest prior to release.... Am i wrong... is the new gold dollar being released this year or not ???
Yes and no. No because it's not going to be a dollar coin, it's a $50 coin - yes it will be released this year.
ok, you got me there :rolling: I am just surprised i havent heard much about it, and the mints not saying when it will be released ...
I remember someone saying it would be sometime in the second half of this year, so GDJMSP is probably right in saying July. I'm sure they will make some noise when they do set a firm date.:loud:
I've also heard that the U.S. Mint was going to commemorate the 1906 SF Earthquake which would be 100 years ago this April with a $5. Gold and $1. Silver Coin of the "Granite Lady" (San Francisco Mint). That would help fund a Museum at the site of the old Mint. I think it passed in the Senate last November, has anyone heard anything about these Coins? or if they might happen at all?
I have not seen anyplace where the bill has passed senate .. http://thomas.loc.gov (do a search for "San Francisco Old Mint") -or- http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billsearch.xpd Thomas.gov shows it was introduced into the senate but hasnt gone any further....
2006 mint products i think benjamin franklin and t. roosevelt will be successful. other mint products. i don't think so.
