The following occurred today, April 19, 2011: My name's Bellamy. I'm creature of habit, frequenting the same establishments in a routine manner. I went into one of mu usuals, made a purchase, and gave a brief look at the coins I received in change. The clerk noticed and asked if I collected coins. YES I DO. He tells me he has a pretty good bag of coins he has accumulated; I ask if he will bring them in so I can have a look. Immediately, "You wanna buy em?" He pulls out the monster bag right there. As items are removed from the bag my mind is going into overload trying to access value, remember how much cash I have on me, and work a slick deal. I have my iPad with me and open up Photograde HD, we continue to converse. BOTTOM LINE: I WALK OUT OF THE STORE, NO CASH PAID, ALL COINS IN BAG, AND WITH AN AGREEMENT: I SELL AND BRING BACK HALF THE CASH. I will mention again I go there often and I will add that I'm an attorney here in Houston which enhances trust, I guess. I told him it would be a little while because I had to educate myself on all he coinage so I didn't get ripped off, et cetera. Any help is appreciated!! Will post pics a little later. -Bellamy
IMO most of your coins are going to be worth their silver melt value unless you find a variety of sorts. Coinflation.com will give you actual melt value of silver, and a google search on the different series/denominations should turn up some info to reference varieties. A redbook may also come in handy.
Yeah. Have not had much time yet. I did examine the 1942 Mercury for 42/1 and it wasn't there the fifth time I looked. I don't know a damn thing about kennedy halves but they and most of the others are in exceptional condition. I am about to take some photos. This is free money doing what I like so I would be in a hard place to complain.
