I would love to know where this is from, what year and denomination and any thoughts to its approximate value?
I'ts Imperial Chinese, but with all my resource material about 600 miles away I can't tell you much more. The writing on the reverse (your bottom picture) is Manchu. Wait for Manymore, or one of our other Chinese cash coin experts to pinpoint Emperor's reign which will give the approximate year of mintage. Chinese coins of that style, denomination "one cash" if they are about modern US quarter size, or 4 cash if they are substantially larger, are not dated.
It's a "fake". The inscription (top image) reads jia qing tong bao which was the inscription used on coins cast during the reign (1796-1820) of Emperor Ren Zong of the Qing (Ch'ing) Dynasty of China. The problem with this coin is that it is "struck" (machine-made). China's first struck cash coins did not appear until about 1890. You may compare the coin with an authentic "cast" jia qing tong bao coin here. Gary
