    Welcome to the neighborhood, Shelley!

Since the value of coins can vary widely and dependent upon condition, it would be better if you could provide photos of the obverse and reverse of the coins.

For a "general idea", the 1799 can range in price from $1000-$30,000. Do you get my drift?

The 1870 Trade dollar is a fake as none were made until 1873

I have a feeling most, if not all, are fake.

Hi. Welcome to the site. My advice would be to approach these with cautious optimism. You should know in advance that many newcomers have come to this site with similar old coins that turned out to be fakes. There are MANY fakes out there. Most can be spotted if you post even basic pics here. Lets put it this way. I'd say it's far more likely that there are some fakes in this group than all of them being authentic. But, they all could be real too. We won't have a good idea unless you post them.

There were only 423,515 1799 dollars ever made, with probably a small fraction of them left in known existence. The 1848 had a mintage of only 15k with probably a small fraction of them left in known existence. (Many coins are lost and melted over time reducing the original number significantly.) These are not every day coins (like Morgans) that people happen upon in an old box too often. If ever. Real ones anyway. It would be a pretty amazing find for coins that valuable to be forgotten about. It has happened though. Try to post pics if you can.

  9. I would agree. The goloid is exceptionally rare and valuable, and I've seen numerous counterfeits/copies.

goloid, and 1799 are very rare, chances are most are fake, last 3 might have chance for being genuine.

How can tell if it's fake, looks really good to me, but then again I am not an expert or dealer.

If it looks "good" chances are it's fake.

Well, I'm gonna say Chinese counterfeit. The stars on the left don't look right. The stars and lettering on the front look like they're too close to the rim. The B in Liberty doesn't look right. The left wing of the eagle has details completely missing which most likely would not just wear away in that isolated area to the point of being completely gone. A tell tale sign of a fake. Almost looks like a rust spot in front of the face. If it sticks to a magnet, it's not silver. If it doesn't, that doesn't mean it's real either.

Disclaimer: I'm not an expert but looks like a lot of red flags to me.
