Info on coins 1 large cent tripple rim and 1 1976 quarter, what would call these errors ? Breakages , slippages or would you call them strange lookin all arrows point to TESTS CENT on the penny .
The "large cent" is post-mint alteration. The copper plating was stripped after minting, and then the coin was pounded between 2 pieces of hard cured leather....by someone who knows what they were doing. When done properly, the details spread out uniformly. I've posted my guess on the quarter already in another thread. Short answer: post-mint damage.
I am probably wearing out this statement but check out coppercoins.com web site for Lincoln Cents. The guy that has that web site will be glad to answer any questions on that coin.
