Found a 2006 $100 star note today. Bill is in good shape, but has one crease down the middle.

Is there any premium on this note at all, or should I just spend it?

    Thanks!

I found one about 2 months ago, and when I checked eBay, there were many being sold for $125 as But It Now.

Thanks, guys. I'm going to a coin show today. If the currency guy is there I'll try and sell it to him and I'll report back. I'm hoping for $110.

Just got back from the coin show. Spoke with several dealers and none were interested in the note. Too common and too new. Oh, well. Still cool to find a star note.

What's the serial number? The 2006 $100 series had some very short print runs of stars, and if your note falls into one of those, then it could be worth a bit to the right collector. That's not the sort of thing your average dealer at a coin show would know to look for, either, especially since much of Series 2006 was printed too recently to be in the books yet....

Just to piggy back on this thread, I got a 2006 $100 * note today. The serial # is : HF 00676287*. It's in pretty good shape with a few creases, but still pretty crisp and clean. Can I get $150 for it? More? Less?

    Serial number is HL 18946804.

    Series is 2006

From a fairly large partial run of 1,280,000 notes.

From a full run of 3,200,000 notes.

Neither one of those hits the jackpot, I'm afraid. The Series 2006 $100's had a few runs of just 128,000 stars, and one run of 96,000...those are the ones that might manage to command a solid premium even in circulated condition. See here for the full breakdown of serial ranges printed.

I have 2 of the 2006 HK runs with a printing of only 96,000. Other than those, no real premium for the other stars yet. If you can afford to hang onto them, they might increase in value in the future.

I just today saw my first 2006A $100 note.
It has the same signature combination's as the 2006, but starts with the prefix "K".
The BEP started cranking these out in Jan. & Feb. 2011, and no Star notes as of yet.

That's awesome I don't ever find any star notes that are ever $100's.

Not sure you got the serial number and series correct, can you post a picture?

Just found it anyway, it's a series 2006A note not a 2006. It's from a run of 3.2 million stars.

Post a separate thread with pictures! But, I would assume it's worth face value- large bills such as 100s don't typically have much value over face.
