I bought a couple of $1 silver certificates off ebay on 4/3. Nothing special, just a few bucks. They were shipped from Maryland on 4/5 according to the USPS tracking and I haven't received them yet here on Long Island. The seller has great feedback and I don't know want to ruin it over such a small transaction. The last thing the tracking shows is that it was processed on 4/9 in Baltimore. So I'm assuming it's probably lost.

Should I just chalk it up to a fluke and let it go? Here's the tracking info:

Processed through Sort Facility, Apr-09-11, 17:27 PM, BALTIMORE, MD, 21233
    Acceptance, Apr-05-11, 14:58 PM, ARNOLD, MD, 21012
Electronic Shipping Info Received, Apr-04-11, 00:00 AM

That is simple... I never use Flea Bay to buy my notes!!
Build a relationship with a reputable Dealer or 2,3,4,5,..that is the best thing you can do. Now I know there are some decent Dealers on EBay, but for the most part, it's a scam house.

Contact the seller, did either of you insure? Could just be "hung up" you should still receive, it is on your coast at least! ;)

I contacted the seller already. I mean, obviously he mailed it, not sure what he can do. He said he can't believe I haven't received it yet. It wasn't insured. It was a very very small transaction. Maybe I should've met him halfway between Baltimore and Long Island at a rest stop to get it from him, lol.

Hang in there, I bought a well worn 1879 CC Morgan on eBay from a gentlemen in New York State during the Christmas Season in 2000, when I was living in Portland Oregon. never showed. The seller and I had insured, by March the seller refunded my purchase. Guess what? The Coin shows up early May at my new address in Coos Bay! :)

Sometimes the tracking info for USPS takes a while to update. It's annoying, but it happens. I would wait a few more days, then ask the seller for a refund.
Best case scenario, he refunds you and chalks it up to the cost of doing business online. Then you leave positive feedback, something like "Great customer service, very prompt responses!!" And everybody is sort of happy: you're not out anything, and he keeps his reputation.

I've had to refund orders from my amazon.com store on items that weren't received. Stuff gets lost (or stolen, maybe), it happens.

I've had the same kind of experience. I bought some coins on eBay - small purchase. The seller shipped it from Louisiana. Tracking showed in Baton Rouge. 2 weeks later it was still in Baton Rouge. I contacted the seller and he sent me out replacements. No sooner did he ship them than the other package started moving out of Baton Rouge. I got both packages on the same day.

I did return the second package to the seller. I don't want to ruin good service.

Obviously not eBay's fault, but the USPS. It was scanned and processed through the sort facility, so it now resides in limbo somewhere between MD and NY. It amazes me that this doesn't happen more often, but in fact the USPS delivery record is quite good.

Yeah, I've sold on and off on ebay since 2001 and I can count on one hand (even with a couple fingers missing) the number of times USPS has lost something. I think I'll give it until next weekend and if I still don't get it, I'll ask for a refund. Of course, if I eventually do get it, I'll send the seller the money back.
