Anyone order any of these from the US Mint? Xtremely cool design and medal and it will be a beauty to keep or re-sell! I figured they're not gonna get any cheaper, gotta wait for shipping cause it's not being mailed out till the end of the month but that's alright. With the price of silver climbing I didn't want to chance it! The gold proof is killer but my pockets aren't that deep. :D Anyone?

I ordered one months ago too. I thought it was cool and since I hope to have all the early and modern commemoratives I figured buying it from the mint is cheaper, in most respects, not all.

I ordered two of each coin, one set is a keeper, the other for investment.

I ordered one of each. My favorite is the 1/4 ounce gold proof.

When I ordered my coins I thought it was 1000,000 total for all coins in the 2011 Medal of Honor series. Turns out it's 100,000 gold coins and up to 500,00 silver coins for a total of 600,000.

" . . . The "Medal of Honor Commemorative Coin Act of 2009," (Public Law 111-91) was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Obama on November 6, 2009. It authorizes the Secretary of the Treasury to mint and issue up to 100,000 gold $5 and up to 500,000 silver $1 coins in recognition and celebration of the establishment of the Medal of Honor in 1861. .."
