The value of the coin doesn't justify the cost of grading, shipping and insurance.

Agreed. The coin is anywhere from 40 to 80 bucks, the TPG will charge you around 50 just to grade it.

No, its the 6 o'clock tip on the 4th star.
As I said, the photo does not do it justice. As God is my witness, there is no dirt between the denticles. I have studied this coin for hours on end looking at every scratch and detail. The denticle reeding alone is in superb condition.

I've polished coins and know the appearance polishes and dips leave on silver and silver plating ... 27 years (and a Master's degree) in my industry will teach anyone that.

I'm just going to drop this. I like the coin regardless of the grade and find myself increasingly disappointed that I even posted...

Relax! Just because we're telling you not to spend the money to submit it because it has been cleaned is no reason to get upset with us. We're only trying to keep you from wasting $50 or so. You asked for opinions and you got them, but if you like the coin, that is all that matters.

Nice! I am hoping to upgrade my VF+ '78-CC to a GSA holdered one in a few months:) Can't wait!!!!!!! :D I've got to get that 1875-CC 20 cent piece, which is gonna take quite a bit of my overall coin funds. I am going down the list from Dollars to Large Cents currently just for a little side tracking fun. Also, you can never go wrong with getting a coin certified, graded, and slabbed. Those TPGs are experts and (most of the time) hit the grade head on so there is no further questioning. :)

Go to ANACS if you want to get it graded, but..........

It looks partially cleaned to me. Go to a DIFFERENT dealer then the one you bought it from and have him check it out
