Sorry for the bad picture. Details: Maryland Quarter normal front. Backside rim has a missing/lower rim then the other parts of the rim 12 to 3 is lower then the rest. Value? I added two pictures. The one with two coins, the left one is a normal one and the right one is the errored
Welcome to the forum ASUphiphi!, but please only one thread on the subject. I removed the other that had duplicate posts. Jim
Definitely not a cud. Minor misaligned die is my guess, although it's tough to tell for sure without an image of the obverse. Take a look at the almost nonexistent rim at 1:00 on the reverse, directly opposite the larger rim at 7:00, and you'll see what I'm talking about. A slightly off-center strike is also a possibility. The obverse of the coin will tell you which it is -- if the obverse is centered, it's a misaligned die; if the obverse is not centered, the coin was struck off-center. It's probably worth its face value only, as this error is very minor. If any of the design were actually missing, the coin would bring a premium.
